Pretty In Pink!!!

Here is a picture of Zeke after his recent hospital stay. He recently lost the ability to use his back legs. When taken to emergency they thought with our recent hot weather it was probably a bite from a brown snake. In hospital he was put on a drip (and a catheter!!) and monitored over night to make sure his lungs didn't shut down - one of the tell signs of a brown snake bite. Lucky for Zeke he started to improve and they now think the problem was bruising of his spine from a bad fall or maybe being nicked by a car. As a reward they gave him a hot pink bandage on his leg where the drip was. You can see how happy he is about it! Zeke is down to about 7 lives left now!

It's a....baby!!!!

Yes it's true... Jarek and I are going to be parents! I am now 18 weeks preggers and the baby's ETA is 29 January 2008.

See pic above of the baby at 14 weeks. We have our final scan that checks to make sure bubs is developing ok next week. This is the scan we can find out the gender... but not quite sure if we want to know or not yet.

Our little bubbanut is appx 17cm long at the moment, weighs 200gram and is starting to give me quite strong kicks considering it's size (mind you I'm sure its nothing compared to what is to come!!).

Queensland Trip

Just returned from a lovely winter getaway in sunny Queensland (below was the view from our apartment). Had a great time with 26-27 degrees every day. We went to all the theme parks - Jarek went on every scary ride, but I was too chicken and took my usual role of holding the bags and taking photos! It was a great time away from Adelaide's icy weather. On the day we left we were driving around with the aircon on and when we got into Adelaide it was a very fresh 9 degrees celsius!

Here we are with a very shagadelic Austin Powers at Movie World. Sshwing! Oh hang on was that Austin Powers or Waynes World....

Here I am with one of the stars of the show at the outback spectacular. This was one of the most fun shows we have ever been too. For those not familiar check out the link - http://www.outbackspectacular.com.au/ This was a dinner and outback show with live animals, rider tricks Australian country western music and a helicopter thrown in for good measure! Loads of audience participation and great food - really was the best night of our trip. I would recommend this to anyone heading up to Qld.

Here we are at the top of Cavill Ave. Our apartment was about 50m from Cavill so we went there regularly for breakfast (can't beat those $3 specials!) and entertainment. I got my first taste of the (very) overpriced Hard Rock cafe, where we forgot to use our buy one get one free vouchers and free gift with every meal that we got from the hotel. Oh well, was fun anyway!

Jarek: After going on every ride in every theme park, the superman escape ride was the only one to give me jelly legs. 0-100kph in 2 seconds flat with twists and turns that make this ride my favourite.

Jarek's 30th Birthday Surprise!

This year Jarek reached the big Three Zero. He was adament that he did not want to do anything, so...I had a surprise party for him! It was a lot of fun organising, but so stressful lying to him (I now know I can never have an affair!), lets just say Jarek thought I was attending an awful lot of yoga classes that month!
We had a nice BBQ with about 25 close friends and family and a great night was had by all.

Finally in Cyberspace!

Jarek and I have finally joined cyberspace! With our ever increasing amount of friends and family living or travelling abroad we thought rather than just reading their blogs all the time we should start our own. So...here we are. We will attempt to keep this up to date with any interesting things happening in our lives!
